Protect our rural community

Neil Carmichael has vowed to stand up and fight to protect the identity, skills and innovations of our rural communities.
Neil issued the pledge after visiting the Frampton Show, an event organised to bring together the large and diverse collection of rural businesses, skills and sports found in the local area.
As well as offering his praise for the work carried out by organisers to make such a successful event, Neil also vowed to place the needs and issues of the rural communities at the “top of his agenda”.
Neil, who is the Conservative Prospective MP for Stroud said: “This was a showcase of the skills and innovations within the rural community. I saw ancient crafts, passed down the ages, rubbing shoulders with new technologies to support the environment.
“Despite being widely ignored by the present government and facing increased costs, individuals and companies are showing that “where there’s a will there’s a way.”
“Over that last decade the funding gap between urban and rural areas has dramatically widened. We intend to close that gap.
David Cameron is putting rural affairs high on the agenda and the Conservative party will reduce the burden of regulation to give businesses more freedom to thrive. It’s all about returning real power to individuals and communities.”
