Neil Carmichael walks to keep Whaddon green
The Labour Government plans to build 1500 houses on green belt land at Whaddon
Neil Carmichael, Parliamentary Candidate and a longstanding opponent of green field development, is joining Whaddon residents in their fight to stop Labour’s plan to build 1500 houses on their green belt.
As part of the campaign, local people will be walking around the area under threat on Sunday 7 September, highlighting the reasons why the development should be stopped. Neil Carmichael and his family will also be walking.
Neil Carmichael commented, “Labour’s attitude to planning is appalling. Instead of consulting local people, distant government bodies decide where houses should be built and, to make things even worse, ministers based in London effectively shape overall planning policy on spurious statistics.
“The proposed development at Whaddon is the product of Labour’s unflinching belief that the State knows best. We need to show that local people know best and care enough to want to stop such nonsense.”
