Job Club established in Dursley

Job Club established in Dursley

Neil Carmichael organises first meeting.

A ‘Job Club’ has been launched in Dursley, meeting for the first time this week in Dursley Library. It will meet again on Monday 6 July.
The Club is developing a network of contacts – social, business and friends. It also provides support and advice on a range of issues connected with finding a job.

Neil Carmichael, coordinator of the project, commented “This is an opportunity to share experiences, learn from others, keep busy and motivated, and feel part of a team.”

“We are all facing difficult economic times, many businesses are struggling and local people are losing their jobs. The Job Club is all about expanding networks, supporting individuals in their search for employment and identifying opportunities.”

Neil continued, “The next meeting will focus on:
Learning to write a CV
Having a mock job interview
Listening to an expert speaker on the building trade
Exploring ways to cover training costs
Researching into local companies looking to recruit”

Anybody is welcome to join the Job Club. Plans are in place to establish one in Stroud.
