Thursday, January 29th, 2009
Mark Harper MP will visit a specialist school for children with physical and learning disabilities in Stroud on Thursday, January 29th.
The Shadow Minister for Disabled People will visit St Rose’s School in Stratford Lawn, just off Beeches Green, at 4.30pm.
Mark, accompanied by local campaigner Neil Carmichael, will meet with staff, pupils and headteacher Mrs Francis Billington during his visit to the school.
Speaking ahead of the visit, Neil, who is also the Conservative Prospective MP for Stroud, said: “I am delighted to have been able to give Mark Harper the opportunity to meet with staff and pupils at St Rose’s School. It is an excellent school with deservedly strong community support.”
St Rose’s is a non-maintained Catholic specialist school for children with both physical disabilities and associated difficulties such as speech, epilepsy and visual impairment, among others. The residential day school, open to pupils aged two-18 years of age, offers a wide rage of facilities, therapy, medical care and varied extra curricular activities and outings.
