Saturday, May 29th, 2010 STROUD MP TO MAKE COMMONS DEBUT

Neil Carmichael, newly elected Member of Parliament for Stroud is set to make a high profile debut when he first speaks in the House of Commons next Wednesday.

Neil is set to ask his first question to the Prime Minister at Wednesday’s Prime Minister’s Question Time, after being placed number nine on the order paper, which means he is likely to be called by the Speaker to ask a question to David Cameron.

Later the same day Neil will be making his Commons Maiden Speech in the Education Debate on the Queen’s Speech.  Neil will be talking about his work as a Governor of Stroud College, and how he believes that the new Government’s Education reforms could bring real improvements to the education of children in Stroud.

Full text of Neil’s maiden speech will be available on the morning of Thursday 3rd June.
